Format: Career Prep Day is a morning event. There are two parts to it:
Task for Mentors: Mentors interact with undergraduate students to discuss good job hunting strategies, interviewing skills and to use their three greatest tools with confidence – their resume, experience, and their ability to communicate effectively.
Expectations of Mentors: Through your mentoring, discussions should cover some or all of the following topics:
Mentor Experience: Mentors will preferably have a minimum of five years of experience of hands-on experience as an engineer - plus experience as a mentor or in a hiring/interviewing capacity.
Note to Mentors: Students are responsible for the content of their own resume and will be provided with supplemental resume preparation information. Mentors are not asked to provide fundamental resume review, but more of an overall discussion on the important elements of a resume, including grammar and format.
To register as a mentor, please provide this information. Thank you!
Number of years in position:
Other engineering position(s) to supplement the above, if the above-listed position has been held for less than one year:

Please indicate if you are willing to participate on the alumni panel. We prefer to have five alumni panel volunteers to conduct a productive discussion and to answer the students’ questions. Panel applicants will be contacted prior to the event to confirm a position on the panel.
Please indicate if you have an interest to participate on this panel:
My Academic Interests:
Generally, the student needs are just the same, regardless of their academic field! However, we try our best to pair mentors with students from a related field in order to handle questions that are field specific, such as “What is the job market like in my field?”
Occasionally, the registration load requires us to assign mentors to students from other fields. You can help by suggesting two or more fields where you are knowledgeable, whether or not it is the area of your academic degree.
Any Field – no limitations
